Carol always prioritised being a mum and it's all she ever wanted to do. And she was good at it; whether it was playing with us, talking to us, encouraging us to do our school work, feeding us, telling us off, and generally just being there.


Mum always supported and advocated for us and I feel sorry for anyone she had to challenge about us as she was very good at getting her point across. If it was about her children she was never bothered if she needed to upset someone.


Mum was always proud of us whether it was achievements at school (academic, sporting or community), learning to ride a bike, passing our driving test, getting a new job or promotion, receiving compliments from people in the community and teachers. She was incredibly proud when I graduated with a degree and became a Social Worker. Most of all she was proud of us becoming good, hard working adults who cared about other people, the community and tried to help where we could. That was the way she raised us to be.
